What are common mistakes for first time car shippers?
Here are the most common car shipping mistakes, and how to avoid them:
Tip#1) Choosing a car shipping company with the lowest quote - Avoid scams, hidden fees & other headaches by shipping your vehicle with a quality auto transport company.
Tip #2) Not checking reviews – I would check reviews for my top 3 auto transport companies on Google, Yelp, BBB, TransportReviews and TrustPilot before I would trust them to ship my vehicle.
Tip #3) Guaranteed pickup & delivery dates don’t exist! – Sometimes the car carriers can get delayed with traffic, weather and road closures. It’s always a good idea to have a backup plan, just in case.
Tip #4) Not being present when your vehicle is being picked up or delivered --- Someone needs to be present on both ends to inspect your vehicle with the driver & sign the Bill of Lading. Once the Bill of Lading is signed the driver is not responsible for any damages noticed afterwards.
Tip #5) Check the Auto Transporters licenses and registration--- All vehicle transporters are required to be registered with the (FMSCA) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. They should also have a motor carrier number (MC#) number. Our company name is All America Auto Transport, Inc., our address is 5270 Brooklawn Terrace, Boynton Beach, FL 33437, and our MC# is 184-386. Our reviews are listed here:
